Beachy Keen Wedding Day ~ Sandra & Aidan

September 6, 2014 is a date that stands out as one of the most memorable of wedding days, both for me as a vendor and as a guest. It’s very unusual to be invited to both the ceremony & reception of the clients I’m designing flowers for.  But I was thrilled when Sandra asked if I’d like to attend, along with my plus one.  The other cool thing about this event is that it took place at the beach.

Helping Sandra plan her flowers was a breeze, and designing for the big day was especially fun because of the theme and Sandra’s flexibility to think ‘outside the box’ for her arrangements.

Wedding day dawned sunny & bright. Perfect for a day at the beach. Hubby & I arrived at the venue early to place arrangements and flowers before the guests were expected. After a meet and greet with my bride and flowering up all the peeps, hubby & I picked a spot on a log for show time.   From that moment on we were simply guests sharing in the celebration of this beautiful couple who are such kindred souls and adorably in love!

One of Sandra’s many DIY projects was to paint the jars for me to fill with flowers.  Her colour choices were spot on for her beachy keen event.

It was such a pleasure to be on the  ‘planning journey’ with Sandra that led to this glorious day !

Sandra’s one-of-a-kind bouquet featured succulents, lisianthus, dahlias, wheat & spray roses embellished with pearl  pins.  A few carnation clusters, along with hypericum berries, Queen Anne’s lace & some leafy greens rounded out her pretty showpiece. And for the bridesmaids, cushion mums were teamed up with carnation clusters, each in a different shade.  Final touches of burlap ribbon wrapped the stems, with a band of lace completing the bride’s.

Sandra’s personal touches really showcased her creativity.  Place cards fashioned with wine corks and …

… table numbers with cork bases.

This residence is an eclectic mix of wow!

Which includes the garage, complete with a chandelier and the cleanest floor I’ve ever seen … for a garage that is.

The perfect end to a perfect day!  Cheers!
